M4 Scorcher - Fire Mission Waypoint - Guns De-Elevate for Last 3 Rounds

Description

When assigning a fire mission waypoint to a M4 Scorcher Section in Zeus Game Mode the waypoint will execute as assigned but for the last 3 rounds of the fire mission the AI gunners will de-elevate the main gun as if the mission was over. This results in the last 2-3 rounds of the mission being fired at the ground near by or into nearby units.

Steps To Reproduce

Create a ZGM 16+2 (Stratis) Mission. Place a SPG Section. Assign the group a FIRE MISSION waypoint at any location (used 1.2km for mine) and let them fire until out of ammo. Near the end of the ammo depletion (end of mission) the main gun will de-elevate but the unit will continue to fire.

Additional Information

This issue has also occurred in other game types where AI units are controlling an indirect fire unit that has a full range of adjustable main gun elevation (155mm, SPG, etc) but not for mortars. Any time an indirect fire mission for a adjustable main gun elevation unit is issued the gun de-elevates during the end of the fire mission.

Hey, thank you for the report. You mention that the issue occurs also in other game types - do you mean Zeus game types (with the Fire Mission WP) or has it happened to you also when using Support modules or even when ordering an arty subordinate to fire at position?

I've been having this particular issue with artillery firing subordinates since as far back as A2:OA. It seems to be present for any instance of AI controlled - player issued fire mission orders to subordinate/on-map units (waypoint or just in-game command). The support module itself doesn't seem to have the issue but I'll admit to not having extensively tested the support module for on map units due to the complexity of setting one up in the editor to use on-map units rather than off-map/virtual units.

I'm having the same problem in current build (Before and after Bootcamp update). I've set a Fire Mission waypoint in the editor for three scorchers and all three of them de-elevate their guns and fire a couple rounds behind them.

Mass-closing all resolved issues not updated in the last month.
