Heavy stuttering when flying/driving through towns/villages
New, WishlistPublic

Description

As the title states, I have very annoying "lag" or stuttering when driving through or flying over towns or basically any place where there are lots of buildings or structures. It gets really bad, especially when it's a big town. When you turn around to fly over it again it's not that bad. To me it seems like everything gets loaded or processed even the things you cannot see, which I can live with if it didn't cause such major stuttering. I have seen this from Showcases to MP gameplay. Very annoying and very off-putting.

My rig:
Intel i5 2500K @ 4.00GHz
8GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM
NVIDIA GTX 780 3GB
128GB Corsair SSD

Upvoted. I have that issue as well. Do you happen to have the same issue while zooming in through scopes or binos?

Yes I have the exact same problem!

Same here, I've upped my FOV to 90 and even payed with 100, send to slightly improve it, but still, too much fps drop and stuttering, but what's the chances this will get fixed? Voting up anyway

The only solution is lowering the graphics, though it's a bit disappointing having to turn them down, simply because 10-20% of the time you play arma, you use scopes/binoculars/driving through towns etc. I use a mix of high/very high/ultra settings (i5 4670k, gtx 660oc, 4gb 1333), and I have that issue. I know it's not the greatest rig, but it should manage to perform well in those settings (stutter-wise, not fps-wise).

Exact same issue, devs, please don't close the thread down. This needs to be fixed.

I've got a perfectly fine rig (Similar to the OP), Intel i7 2600k @ 3.4ghz, GTX 780 Superclocked, 500GB Samsung Evo SSD, 16GB Corsair Dominator Platnium RAM @ 2400Mhz

I get 70-100 fps in Altis singleplayer, fly low over Kavala and I get 30. The game really shouldn't be struggling like it is to load in objects like buildings.

I've noticed this as well when one increases the time acceleration (setacctime), either while the AI is driving or flying the pilot/driver will 'stutter' as OP puts it and return to normal when time acceleration is 1x or slower. I would assume this is related to one's system lag as V_Ninth and TOMMEH indicated.

@debug Out of curiosity, what specs do you have? Just so we can rule out hardware as a problem, and pin it down to the actual game.
