If you place an "Empty" UAV Darter AR-2 (for example), you cannot connect a terminal to it as UAV Operator.
Also, in multiplayer servers, a lot of people are sketchy about adding UAV's. The reason being is, if they do spawn them, its usually not under a faction, and is placed under empty instead.
This has a terrible glitch where you cannot control or activate, interact with that UAV in any way, shape or form.
You will find the empty does not allow you to connect to it, rendering it useless, and more of a visual prop.
As to where if it is spawned in under a faction, as if there is some sort of living essence within the UAV, it can then be controlled, and toggled with. This is a serious glitch that needs to be resolved.
Also, say, someone does spawn it under a faction in a server, but that UAV gets destroyed, it spawns as empty. So even though you got the chance to use it ounce, it was as if there was no re spawn because you can no longer use the UAV, because it is now empty on respawn.
put this in the respawn script for a workaround
createVehicleCrew _unit;
i use a seperate scriptfile for drones similiar to vehicle.sqf
That may be a temporary fix, but i'd rather have it fixed in vanilla in order to use the drones without a scripting solution. And thanks fireball.
