If you are inside a vehicle it will supress all arma sound. Hint pop ups are silent pop ups, custom music is muted, normal trigger sounds (any setting) is muted. Being in a vehicle should only supress the environment sounds and not every sound in arma. Even giving commands to crew inside a vehicle is sometimes muted/dimmed.
