Custom textures don't load until you're in close range
New, WishlistPublic

Description

When you set setObjectTextures on an object, for example a billboard, the texture doesn't load on multiplayer unless the player is either close by or zooming the view towards the object.

It means that custom signage is useless unless you are very close to it

Steps To Reproduce

Set an object in the editor with "this setObjectTexture [0, "filename.paa"];" in the Init field.

Load up the mission and check the object/custom texture. It will not be loaded unless you are close to or zoomed in on.

Additional Information

I have tried changing the texture format (I've tried jpg and paa) but it produces the same results. High/Ultra graphics settings does not affect whether the textures load or not.

I make missions for my community and make regular use of custom signs and in game slide briefings using the custom textures. It's getting a bit frustrating that players have to come close to the texture for it to load.

This is applicable to both the Beta and the Dev.

Does this apply to vehicles as well?

No. I have not tried it on vehicles. Primarily I want the use of it for custom signs and in game slide briefings

Can you test this on vehicles quick and report back?

Havent tested it, but this was also happening in arma2.

Sorry for the delay. It appears to work fine on vehicles, I tested several vehicles over similar and longer distances and it worked.

Banners, user textures and similar static objects all have the issue reported but seems to work on vehicles. I hope this means someone has an idea :)
