this is EVERY SINGLE vehicle in ArmA ever since OFP, no one ever complained about it, my only complain is with sea vehicles, then its annoying.

When you disable autonomous behaviour, you can turn engine off and engine stays off until you press key for acceleration (or select "engine on" item in action menu). If there is autonomous behaviour enabled, engine is automatically started when you change the direction of UAV. Turret is trying to look in given direction in this case and it needs started engine for corrections.
