when i tested the support module it seems that the AI just move to your location and stand there.
(no enemies present in this test)
i tried this with an injured squad and 5 medics grouped and waypointed support.
when called they ran over and stood there like lemons. they did not heal anyone.
it seems like the AI do not really Support you the way it is intended.
go on the editor (stratis)
make a group of 3-5 people (leader = player)
make sure the health on each unit is below half.
make another squad with 2-5 medics
waypoint the medics somewhere with the support waypoint
click preview.

observe they just ponder over and stand there while your teamates are bleeding away. you also cannot command the injured units to heal at any medic other than "patch your self up" but in this case you may or may not have any FAK's left.
tested in the build 29-7-13
Mass closing ancient tickets with no activity for > 12 months; assume fixed or too trivial.
