On startup line, add (-skipintro). Certain users are reporting the issue not happening. Might be tied to player count, or another user having the active command.

Additional Information

Possible cause might be failure to load CfgSkeleton when forces to skip pre-load.

Use -nosplash instead

You need to attach the crash logs and the mission it happens with.

Overall you are right that the engine does not initialize infantry (skeleton) correctly when the main menu does not play an intro with infantry (due to -skipIntro or intros without infantry).

remove all the startup parameters that claim to speed up the startup of the game. worldempty, skipintro etc. All them.... take them out.
It's a workaround, not a fix.
