[BETA] NATO 6.5 mm suppressor replaces mx rifle's auto mode with burst mode.
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

In BETA, I noticed that The 6.5mm NATO suppressor replaces the automatic fire mode with burst fire mode. I do not believe that this is a feature.

I believe its intentional. I'm fairly sure silencers play about with the gas system of a weapon.

There can be no way this is intentional, happens with Katiba as well.

Thats... I... Ok? The Katiba is also a firearm that is probably affected by the silencer altering the gas pressures and whatnot. I'm saying it's probably an intentional design choice.

play with the gas system? Maybe. But I fail to see how it can change full auto to burst perfectly.

Can neither find anything on google that silencers can do that.
Can we get word from a veteran or gun maniac please?

Suppressors do increase the gas pressure inside the weapon system (overgassing). This results in higher muzzle velocities, faster cyclic rates and overall higher operating temperatures within the weapon. Generally, overgassing increases the wear and tear on a weapon system. Most gas piston operated guns are self-regulating, meaning that if overgassing occurs, the system bleeds the excess gas to ensure normal chamber pressures.

Overgassing however in any shape or form does not automagically change the way the weapon functions.

Overgassing most certainly does not change how the fire selector mechanism functions.

Weapons going to semi or burst mode in ArmA 3 when suppressed is an arbitrary occurrence whether by fault or intention.

This issue should be fixed, will probably make it to next dev build I guess.

Fixed in latest dev build. Admin may set this as resolved or something.

Mass closing ancient tickets with no activity for > 12 months; assume fixed or too trivial.

If this issue is still relevant in current dev build, please re-post.
