Personal statistics about your character (local, not global)
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

I'm creating this ticket to ask for a feature request to have Statistics.
Not necessarily globally but more personally.

Just to keep track of lets say how long you have flown a helicopter, Enemies shot, things like that.

Please note that I meant that these stats will only be visible by YOU. So no way to check others stats.

This would be open to abuse, and sounds like a preamble for Steam achievements. In a sandbox game, those kind of statistics are irrelevant, but could easily be implemented on a server for members statistics.

I can't vote either way on this.

I'm not asking them to make this public to other players (If that's what you mean)
but just you. Just a quick tab which says some stats of your character.
How would that be possible to be abused?

I updated the title to make it clear that you're not talking about global stats, leaderboards etc. :)

Ok, that means you now get my vote :)

IF THIS BECOMES MANDARY I'M OUT THE DOOR.

No overarching bullshit tracking on your entire account.

On single servers, sure. Who could stop modders from adding it anyways?

I’ll downvote this though.

Modders can create it.

I don't mind local stats that can be reset on a button, could be useful after a gaming night to get a summary of what i was mostly doing.

But yeah no online thing.

+1

as long as it's not global I am down with it.
it would be nice to know how am I doing after a game and see if I improve over time.

I am not up for global statistics because that mean they will have to make persistent servers,
building databases and maintaining all this which is expensive and time consuming.
Also this open the game to the competitive gameplay type (BF3 style), which I think has no place in ArmA.

but as long it's local, I think it's a good thing.

I think a more detailed and savable debriefing would do this job and with more realistic way.
Debriefing like GhostRecon1 or DCSWorld would tell you all stuff you want know.

@bez
Yeah that's how I think about it.
I would like to see how long I have been flying around, what city I have been in for the longest time etc. How many projectiles fired and destroyed buildings.

+ if shot rabbits are included

Like this idea, especially if we can reset the stats so we can judge our own effectiveness in multi and single player sessions. Also like the idea of CXN2615 to have a debrief screen at the end of a session.

I dont understand the hostility to having access to your gameplay statistics...
