Closed, ResolvedPublic

I start the game within steam, get the first loading screen then the Bohemia logo splash screen and nothing else happen.

I press Control+Alt+Del and if I choose task manager or cancel I get a windows message that Arma 3 stopped working. Went to the event viewer and got the following:

try to do the most basic things of all, delete "ArmA3" in your doccuments folder inside the arma 3 folder, it holds your selected addons and graphics configuration, but its what causes most of the start-up errors

Didn't work unfortunately. Still exactly the same error by deleting the entire Arma3Alpha folder in my document. Arma regenerated the folder with just the arma3alpha.cfg and a profile.
But the game didn't start.

you didn't had to delete THE WHOLE folder.... just "arma3.cfg".....

but if its still wont start..... then the error code must be given to someone in support, this is the right place to post it, sorry i can help you anymore.

same with me, except i get to atleast be in mainmenu for a few minutes or start a showcase then its crashes.

Please try use -nobenchmark command line option.
Right click on Arma III in your Steam Library>Properties>Set launch options

We need dxdiag and files from this folder for solve your problem. C:\Users\<Name>\AppData\Local\Arma 3 Alpha\
Can you upload somewhere in winrar package please?
When package will be smaller than 2,097k, so you can attach here. Thank you.

"Faulting module path: C:\Windows\system32\nvwgf2um.dll" (some nvidia driver file)

i found some ppl have problems with this file too (in other games)

> try update graphic drivers to latest

Ok, so I used the -nobenchmark and Arma3 starts fine but crashes just after a few minute. It is not nvwgf2um.dll that is in cause with the error anymore.

I had the latest Nvidia drivers but reinstalled them just in case but it didn't do any difference the game still crashes after a few minute of game play (mission editor: just me swimming around or flying a chopper around).

I would consider this issue solved by the -nobenchmark because the game start but I can't enjoy it and there is bug somewhere so I will certainly have to create a new ticket.

About sending dxdiag and file I don't mind doing it but how do I do it because my rar file compressed to the max is 18k and the file limit size is 2k!!?

upload it somewhere else, for example here: and put link to file

Ok so like I said in my previous message I'm now able to start the game without any issue but it crashes all the time after a few minutes. Because this thread is still on status need more info I will use it.

I decided to delete everything: game from steam, my document arma 3 folder and my AppData\Local\Arma 3 Alpha\ to restart with a fresh install.

I created a scenario with just me as a diver a chopper, I flew from the airport to the radar station landed at the station and just fire a shot at the building and the game crashed:

Below is the error and I also included the Appdata as requested

Jlaporte,.I'm having the identical problem. I start ARMA up, and a few minutes in it crashes, even idling in the main menu crashes, it use to mainly occur during helicopter showcase, like immediately, other showcases i can play a bit before it crashes...

It makes me sad =( lol

I just want to let people know that I'm still experiencing constant crashes despite the latest update. I really can't do anything with the Alpha anymore. It's not even fun.

Agreed... It's life over two weeks now that i can't play =( when do we get to play again?

Gentlemen I think I solved my problem. I installed the latest update of the beta and also updated my NVidia drivers (there was an update) and Arma 3 kept bugging. I had another game that was bugging very bad as well. Some others games like Arma 2, I could play with them for a while but they would eventually crash.

There was a bios update and I knew I would loose my overclocking (I have an I7 3770k that I overclocked to 4.6). Upon flashing the bios I didn't do any overclock manually I just let my Bios bump it to 4.2. I tried Arma 3 and absolutely no problems at all playing great on Ultra settings.

I guess I do not know how to overclock properly and even if I could get good result and I tested it for stability at 4.6 it was not done properly.

you have i7 and still overclocking ? OMG WHY :D you dont need that much power

Hey Jlaporte, same here problem was solved for me on last week thursdays update!
I don't know about being a Nvidia update because I did not do any other update other than the daily dev build.

see for my ticket.

***Also it is running better, I had clocked my i5 3570K cpu to 4.7Ghz via ASUS software, not manually, and finally I am getting ARMA3 on Ultra at around 50fps average, 30fps lowest (helicopter showcase. Still feel it is rediculous clock for ARMA3.

Overclock issue.

Mass close.
