Distant sound
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

While I will agree the distant sound before needed to be dailed back, the current change is dailed back too much. As it is now, I can see firefights happening a mile or two away, but I can't hear them. Except the occasional grenade going off. Aside from my eleven years of experience with firearms, my granparents live about three or four miles away from a prison. And when the guards have their range time, you can hear it from my grandmothers house. And that's with 9mm or .40cal pistols. You know what I think part of the problem is, I just noticed. THe ambient sounds are too loud, wind birds and such.

Also, I know this is by design after reading the change log, but when you put down alot of units in the same area some weapons no longer have sounds. My gun stopped producing sound once I put down 6 groups of AI in the biggest city on the map near the sea, forget what it's called.

Yes, I grew up near a military testing and training area and artillery rounds could be heard from over 5km, even 10. Up in the hills near where they practice, heave mg fire can be heard from a couple of kilometers. In short - gunfire should probably be audible across all of stratis

most of it. if you are at the southern tip with a handgun and someone is standing at the town, you probably wont be able to hear it. it should probably be increased, but not by to much

Yeah you're right, a handgun wouldn't be that loud

Most likely a symptom of the doppler bug. Should be fixed now.
