With the latest patch dynamic lights are back to being a welcome addition, they retain the effect on highlighting normal and specular maps (something OFP-A2 did not) and they are the brightest they have ever been! This however comes with a price on the asthetics..
Due to fact that the lights cast no shadows, light will enter where it should not be or illuminate the landscape far beyond what it should, creating oddities such as a lit ground but shaded grass.
The big concern is performance and understandably so, however once again this should be up to the USER in how far they wish to stress their systems. A system just like the dynamic lights we have now, wherein setting determines how many are rendered in radius around the player would allow significant flexibility.
I modified several images (albiet poorly) to demonstrate just how much of an impact on the environment dynamic shadows would have versus what they are.
