grab yourself a MXM Rifle and try to equip the 6.5mm Supressor (wont work)
then try again with the 7.62mm supressor (will work)

the MXM fires 7.62 rounds. it would make no sense to try and fit a 6.5mm suppressor on a 7.62 gun...
