I think that there is a useful feature that should be implemented to Arma 3. This feature will be to be able to join a friend on arma 3 directly from steam or from game.

impossible to join easily a friend on a server : procedure used for battlefield 3 or counter strike.

My guess is that they're planning on adding full Steamworks support in the final game, since the game is Steam exclusive anyway. But it's not really a pressing issue while the game is in Alpha.
