There is also a post about adding AM/PM to the current watch or replace the analog watch for a digital one:

I prefer the analog watch but adding a digital watch instead of replacing the analog watch I think is a better option.

Wouldn't there be many issues with digital watch? Many missions don't have 1:1 time acceleration, and there is still no proper time sync. It would be one great mess if each player had different time and the time would skip randomly (eg. 20 minutes after every 5 minutes).

Edit: The timer and countdown would be neat features though. I believe that sync would be still needed.

A digital watch won't be any different then a analog watch I think, it just displays the time in a digital format.

But yes, if there are any problems with the current analog watch and time sync then that will also be the case with a digital watch.

"A digital watch won't be any different then a analog watch I think, it just displays the time in a digital format."

I understand that, with my previous comment I meant that the time acceleration and lack of time sync would be probably much more noticeable with digital watch.

Yes, I guess it would.

I have no idea how the time currently is synced, probably with the server you are connected to?

Maybe there could be another source for syncing the time and when you connect the server only tells the client a time offset at the start of a mission?

I really don't know, just guessing :-)

That's the problem: to my knowledge, there's no time sync between clients at all. You need a custom script to sync it between clients and there might still be issues.

This suggest was processed by our team and will be looked into. We thank you for your feedback.

yeah that vintage clock we are now using isnt much army xD

I strongly prefer analog watches and can't imagine having a digital one, be it in a game or for real. I still use a wind up watch and absolutely love it. I even had a watch very similar to the one from OFP.

I propose to introduce an option, to choose what type of watch is being used in the game, but please don't take the current watch away.

Hey arampirx, there is a slot in the inventory meaning that this compromise can already be easily established. Regular, 24h watches, digital chronometers would all fit there.
The only missing thing at the moment is interaction. Maybe reuse weapon controls while the watch is active, because you would be rather distracted from using your firearm while checking the top of your right (or left) hand.

This is an interesting idea, but what if the watch type item, specified in the soldier's config, is digital only? It would be better, if having a watch type item only enabled using the watch in game, but it's exact type would be determined by a preference setting in player's profile.

I like the current system, with a watch appearing on screen. It's as quick and easy as a quick peek at the wrist. If people want to have a time checking animation, it's OK, but remember "Trespasser" game - not always more "realistic" means "better experience".

You already receive a headgear item (selected in the profile) directly to the inventory, so picking a watch too is very feasible.

This would be a welcomed addition. Synchronizing attack times or being able to start countdowns and see how much time you have to do X part of a mission would be helpful at a quick glance.
