Falling through thin walls

Description

Player can fall through walls of e.g. the guard towers. Some of the walls below the closeable windows/ports do not block player from walking through them and falling to the ground.

Often happens with guard towers, radio towers, airport control towers, lighthouses, and Air Station Mike radar dome.

Pretty much any building with thin walls or balconies.

Steps To Reproduce

The easiest way to reproduce bug:

  1. go up to the tower
  2. run backwards and in the moment of hitting the wall release back button and start rotating right, during the rotation press right arrow (to move right)

Looks like there is an issue with player model collision detection when being inside the guard tower - probably the walls are just too thin, and the falling out happens when standing still and rotating in place.

Also for me, the easiest places to fall out are on the corners.

I cannot replicate it myself using 0.55.103960. I cannot get myself to fall from anywhere in the tower as I could before. Did you try the current non-dev build?

However, an AI can fall from the stair landing when ordered to move to top of tower:

Also, an AI ordered to move to top of tower will usually walk in circles around stairs in a confused fashion before finally making it to landing, from which he falls. He will never make it to top of tower.

Also, opening the window hatches on the guard towers makes no noise.

Looks like the issue is related to rotation movement prediction and collisions.

Tested on alpha Dev build 0.55.103960

I wonder if vsync is important....

I have the same issue every building i get close to,which is crazy as they are a big part of cover for players, even worse on stairs. So this is Still happening, kills the campaign as even AI can shoot through the walls of buildings. I think this should be a major item worked on well before any Zeus items. I am playing the so called stable version 1.12

My specs:
Windows 7 x64
Amd phenom II x4 920
sapphire HD 5850 (beta dirver 14.2)
4G Memory
500G HDD

Notice that he in the video moved to the wall backward and as soon as he turned he fall down.
