I plan on also posting on the recoil issue, but agreed. I have had the pleasure of visiting the weapons range at marine air station yuma and putting a lot of rounds downrange of many of the weapons, basically every type the USMC uses including L/HMG's. I have a friend with an M4 variant which I have personally purchased and fired hundreds, if not thousands of rounds (So expensive!!) I have also spent thousands of dollars and years visiting closed ranges and shooting attempting to shoot every weapon ever made. I can tell you standing up using an acog type scope and looking at a target anywhere within a couple hundred meters and whilst controlling my breathing I can keep barrel on target quite easily, after multiple shots. Using the M4 I could hit a chest sized rock at around 200 meters mountain top to mountain top using nothing but a ACO and firing about 1 round per second or two seconds. Recoil was negligible after I had fired enough rounds to account for it. I find after I have gotten the handle of a specific weapon recoil is automatic and my sight picture always returns without any effort whatsoever. Its natural.

If you try to get an RCO in game on one of the rifles, zoom in on a target less than a hundred meters away while standing or crouching the figure 8 weapon sway is so exaggerated it makes it ridiculous. A trained (US) soldier can maintain most of this focus whilst under fire IRL. Yet in-game I am about as accurate as I would be standing with one leg. This is very much my opinion and up for debate, but I believe the sway and recoil, is a bit exaggerated.

then, wildfire dont waste your time in commenting, use it to make a new thread.
because this ticket is ridiculously missing info.

Agree completely. It's too much.

ARMA 3 is not enjoyable anymore.

To fix this problem ASAP - this is what BIS needs to do:

Not happy with weapon sway at all. Very exaggerated, should be toned down at least 50%.

Sway is fine in some places but too much in others. The whole game feels like its moving back and forth now.

Lying with bipod weapons have a traveling sway that goes all over and it needs to go even though bipods aren't animated yet - they are still there so we must assume they are used when lying down (again, BIS, please animate bipods when we lie down).

The other sway that was implemented that I don't really like is the jog-aim sway. In the ALPHA we could jog slowly and have an accurate aim with at least the CQB optics. Now the jog is sped up and the aim have gotten the ARMA2 sway almost where it sways in a hard pattern forcing you to always stand still to shoot (and hit), just like ARMA2. In the ALPHA I did feel like a trained soldier, but now the sway seems to be implemented more and more all over with every update.

Also binoculars of all sorts need to get less sway. Its very hard to lase and reveal/recognize.

I do like the vibrations here and there they feel very realistic, and moving and shooting with magnified optics shouldn't be a walk in the park, but a little bit back from the ALPHA regarding sway wouldn't hurt.

Please reduce weapon sway.
Its VERY frustrating having to fight against a drunk avatar all the time.

At least reduce it with lower stances like crouched.

Or intrease the time you can run before getting so tired. You get exhausted just walking in tactical pace!

I'd rather have weapon sway than Visual fatigue indicators eg: darkening screen edges and Blurring vision.

Everybody needs to call it the "Alcoholic Gun Sway bug" or something similar.

Once a really ugly (or embarrassing) name sticks to a particular ARMA3 bug or problem, the developers will have to finally deal with the issue.

I know they want to add "realism", but BIS is being extremely inconsistent about "realism". BIS made it almost impossible to hold your gun still (the alcoholic gun sway) because they THINK that's more realistic, but they refuse to let helicopter pilots manually control the landing gear!!! When you slow down, the helo landing gear automatically lowers, even when I don't want it to be lowered.

So BIS is being very selective about the realism options they choose to implement, but not everyone agrees on what's realistic. Frankly, I don't think it's realistic to walk 20 feet with a fairly light backpack, immediately be out-of-breath, and then even when I lay prone I can't hold the gun still to save my life. Yet, with some weapons the gun sway is fine. With others, it's almost impossible to hold still. Maybe I need to get drunk to counter-act (aka compensate for) the drunken gun sway!

Well regardless of the heli gear, the weapon sway is so bad that the only way you can really hit anything is laying down or sitting on your butt. Yes you can hit a target standing but its 1 in 10 chance. Fix this please it sucks eggs bad!

For now weapon sway looks like the soldier is holding his weapon with straigth hands and without shouldering it.

The scope should always be centered in your view due to the shouldering and 'cheek weld'

push shift to hold breath. sway goes way down.

Holding breath doesn't change the fact that sway works strange at least.
The soldier holds weapon like he doesn't use 'cjieck rest' or 'chin rest' at all.

P.S. I'm not talking about getting back to 2d scopes.
