The recoil on the assault rifles is extremely high. Being infantry in the military I have A LOT of experience with rifles and the recoil is absolutely ridiculous. You should be able to easily put 2 rounds (hammer pair) in a 3 inch group at at least 50 yards (From all the high speed gear I can assume you're trying to represent some sort of special force so the marksmanship skill should be high) A hammer pair at 100 yards jumps from the center of a doorway to 3 or so feet outside of the door.
