Would (very much) like 3D support
Reviewed, LowPublic

Description

If you're tired of 3D, you're tired of life.

I very much hope the developers support stereoscopic 3D with this game.
The difference between 2D and 3D is like looking at a moving picture, and being there. Stereoscopic 3D is incomparably more immersive than 2D.

For other players: If you've never experienced it, you are truly missing out (certain gamers' grumbles notwithstanding). It's like gaming in color for the first time. I played games, once, on a black and white television (a mere 15-20 years ago). I moved to colour, and I'd never go back. Likewise, playing in 2D seems lacking equally lacking--I'm not exaggerating. There is also a side-benefit for gameplay: you can effectively see more detail on a 1080p monitor with 3D enabled (since two different eyes are seeing two different sets of pixels). Additionally, on a nearly unconscious level, you are more able to gauge distances, especially in close-quarters combat (I've found that for slow-moving projectile weapons, I have far better aim when playing in 3D, because I can lead the crosshairs better).

For the developers: please allow gamers to run true 3D. The lack of true 3D support makes a joke of any game's efforts to be cutting-edge. I would go so far as to say that such an oversight breaks the game. I literally do not purcahse any 3D game without 3D Vision support (excluding this one, since it's an alpha). For me, lack of true 3D is so obvious it hurts.

I ABSOLUTELY agree.
Once u go stereoscopic 3D you never go back to 2D…
And this game would be amazing in 3D.
So Bohemia please support Nvidia 3D Vision!!!!

No. Support Stereoscopic 3D without Nvidia 3D Vision.

3D Vision is a fucking joke. I'm an Nvidia customer (And wouldn't use anything else), but to force me to buy additional Nvidia branded hardware just to use something my monitors are already capable off is ludicrous. My monitors are capable of both 2D to 3D, side-by-side, top-to-bottom and sequential.

Please support stereoscopic 3d without requiring redundant Nvidia branded hardware.

well I dont have anything that supports 3D, so to me, this feature doesnt mean much, and I bet I am one of millions, so I'd say the more features the merrier, but because 3D isn't a standard norm worldwide for every single user, I would say this shouldnt be way up there as one of the most important features, in fact I bet this could be an afterthought, after the game has released. There are more important things and features that need attention and implimentation right now.

If you dont want to buy a game because it lacks 3D then find an alternative that does. I hear Black Ops supports 3D. Don't try and boycot the devs.

As a side note to this, I agree with MulleDK, I'm a Nvidia user too, but I dont see any point to get additional HW to see 3D, and this too will be a setback for ATI users, if it does get implimented, please do so that will benefit all users equally regardless of their choice to what brand GPU, or TV/Monitor they have, and also minus any additonal accessories.

All the people who down-voted should have their one eye removed.

All the people who voted down obviously have no idea what they're missing. I can't play games that aren't in 3D anymore...they just feel flat, no matter how great the graphics/textures are. Just has no depth so is not nearly as immersive as 3D

" if it does get implimented, please do so that will benefit all users equally regardless of their choice to what brand GPU, or TV/Monitor they have, and also minus any additonal accessories. "

arma 3 also has 5.1 surround sound support, by your logic it should not be implemented, because some users only have a stereo setup. you just can't benefit all users equally. and besides that, ati/amd has the most shitty s3d support ever, i don't even know why their are spending their time on it anyway, if they do it so half-hearted. "gaming evolved" for sure. so anyone who is really interested in s3d has 3d vision anyway. the only thing i agree upon is, if you play on a 3d tv, then there should be the possibility to use formats like side by side, in order to use your tv's glasses.

I think you got me wrong boson, I'm just saying don't favour something only select few with the cash can afford or have, what i meant is, choose an option that won't be nvidia specific, or ati specific. I'm not saying don't do 3D because some don't have 3D TVs or the expensive accessories, and some have nvidia cards so the ati folks miss out, others have ati cards so nvidia folks miss out. All I'm saying is, choose something that everyone can use regardless, or just don't do it i guess.

There are a couple of issues with your response:

  • 3D Vision need not be that expensive (yes, you need a graphics card that can output enough frames, but by that reasoning, higher resolution textures [for instance] shouldn't be included with the game). Specifically, a 3D Vision monitor is $139 for the glasses and $250 (and you could get lower prices if you looked around), looking at Amazon.com.
  • Existing users with 3d Vision hardware are essentially "locked-in" to Nvidia. By all means consider supporting ATI's 3D solution (which is open), but I see no reason to punish Nvidia users for choosing the only decent implementation of 3D (at this time).
  • I believe (though a developer will need to verify this), that supporting 3D Vision will ensure that it is far easier to change the game to support the Oculus Rift (when it's available), or another non-proprietary 3d solution. The Rift will retail for ~$300 dollars, and it may be explosively popular (I'm betting on it).

"The difference between 2D and 3D is like looking at a moving picture, and being there. Stereoscopic 3D is incomparably more immersive than 2D."

"I moved to colour, and I'd never go back. Likewise, playing in 2D seems lacking equally lacking--I'm not exaggerating. There is also a side-benefit for gameplay: you can effectively see more detail on a 1080p monitor with 3D enabled "

Being an owner of an Nvidia 3D vision kit for about 3 years, I can testify that the above sentence is, not only true, but it expresses exactly what 3D vision gaming is.

I agree with MulleDK19
