Arma III Alpha crashing on startup
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

I try to start Arma III alpha from steam. It goes through the initial loading process and as it starts to switch into full screen mode (this problem also happens in windowed start) everything disappears and it goes back to my normal desktop screen. I then get an error on my bottom-right toolbar:

"Display driver stopped responding and has recovered
Display driver Intel Graphics Accelerator Drivers for Windows 8(R) stopped responding and has successfully recovered."

I have windows 7 and not windows 8, I'm not sure if that matters. After this, Arma III is running in my processes but I am incapable of doing anything except terminating the process.

I'm experiencing the problem for first time and I attached dxdiag info and rpt folder (excluded folders sqauds and mpmissionscache which were 16MB)

"Display driver stopped responding and has recovered
Display driver Intel Graphics Accelerator Drivers for Windows 8(R) stopped responding and has successfully recovered."

Do you use virtu or similar software? Or why do you have intel graphic card driver, when you have GTX 590?

Please try use -nobenchmark command line option.
Right click on Arma III in your Steam Library>Properties>Set launch options
