Implement a Report Function in multiplayer
Reviewed, NormalPublic

Description

Hacking, griefing and teamkilling in Multiplayer servers to very common and too easy for people to do. There is no real report function and no way to stop these people unless an admin can kick them from the server.

Additional Information

I understand you are probably aware of the hacking problem however we need a way for the hacking to be reported so the hackers will get banned. Anti-cheat can only go so far but a report function will allow for the community to get the hackers banned with proof.

This is not a bug but a feature request, and it affects more issues than just hacking (also griefing, teamkilling etc.). I updated the title and description accordingly.

Also removed the repro steps, because "join a server and wait for hackers" is not really helpful at all. ;)

this is a much needed feature, anything to stop or aid in banning hackers really will be much appreciated. It pisses me off how hackers just come in and mess up a good time.

is there anything being done to prevent people from hacking anyways?

I'm in favor of a kick/report system. It would need a bit of thinking though as kids who either are angry about losing or just unable to tell the difference between skill and hack ( I myself have that problem from time to time) could ruin the game for legitimate players else.

agreed, controlling the system will be just as much needed, since you will get those idiots that will try and get back at you.

I would say a voting system, majority rules. If there are 40 players in a game, then only 1/3 (13) people need to vote to get player kicked. Of course, if that many people dont want you to play, then why would you want to play with them.

I think this could just be as an autopilot feature for when admins arent around, when admins are present, then the voting can still happen, but will be up to the admin to kick or not to kick.
