Red dot is not bright enough
Reviewed, LowPublic

Description

With NVG's red dots are nearly useless unless you're in complete darkness. This is also the case when it's bright daylight. The dot on just disappears on a bright target. {F17226}

Turning up the brightness of the dot would fix the daylight issue. Making NVG sensitivity adjustable would fix the night issue.

I'm not sure this is a problem with the dot not being bright enough. I have no problem seeing it on my end despite being colourblind, it looks like there's no dot at all on your screenshot.

Same here, no problems in daylight nor nightlight

Can't reproduce

Weird, my red dot looks nothing like yours

This is weird. Could be a graphics settings issue.

Can everyone post their settings?

I have noticed this issue, but nothing like what you show in the picture.

It must be related to HDR as when its on Low, i can see it, but on High i can not see it looking at bloomed areas or in NVGs.

Running GTX 570.

I have HDR set to low.

Running on a HD7950, everything is set on VERY HIGH except for Clouds set at HIGH and HDR at STANDARD.

Dunno if it can be related to specific cards / graphic settings but as i said on the previous comment, i can clearly see the red dot sights

Just an FYI, in red dot sights like the Trijicon Reflex Sight, which uses ambient light to brighten the dot, the dot is not very bright, and can be washed out in bright sunlight. The same applies for night time, when there is not much ambient light to keep the dot lit.
