Closing Map Makes Weapon Disappear
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Playing the Infantry Showcase. Pull up map with key mind. Close out with same key bind. Splash screen appears and takes a while to go back to game. Once game comes back character is without weapon being up. At one point character kept running and would not stop until mouse wheel (weapon select) was used to cancel run.

If your character brings up the map, he has obviously to drop his weapon. What's the problem with that?

Agree on banshee, Though the running part i guess it happens once (with your weapon lowered) you click secondary mouse button to aim and then the running bug happens. At least to me.

The main issue is the run bug and load time between closing the map and getting control of your character.

I don't seem to have the weapon issue. Any movement after coming out of the map brings the weapon to its previous state. I do think the 1-2 sec. delay is a bug though. Unless they want to have a map folding animation, but you should still be able to interrupt the map fold to draw your weapon.

The problem is the inconsistency. I am pulling up the map after having weapon up then when map is closed my character will either:

  1. have his weapon dropped and will not bring weapon back up without hitting secondary mouse button or
  2. have his weapon dropped and will bring weapon back up after moving

Also, worth noting if you have weapon up and scoped then exit out of map you go right back to your weapon scoped in which differs.

Edit: I have videos but they are too large to attach.

I can confirm some of your inconsistencies however I still feel that the bigger problem is the delay when coming back from map view. It looks like we might be dealing with two separate issues. I'll outline my findings below:

WEAPON DOWN

Position before map view: Standing
Position after map view: Slight crouch with hand extended

State of Weapon: Down * any movement and position returns to standing

Position before map view: Crouch
Position after map view: Crouch

State of Weapon: Down

Prone n/a

SCOPE UP

Position before map view: Standing
Position after map view: Standing

State of Scope: Up

Position before map view: Crouch
Position after map view: Crouch with hand extended

State of Scope: Down * any movement and scope returns to up state

Position before map view: Prone
Position after map view: Prone

State of Scope: Up

DELAY WHEN RETURNING FROM MAP VIEW: Always
