playing the vehicle showcase and if u take the back way behind the rocks there is a snake n the mountain that when it runs away slithers in and out of the ground.
Event Timeline
Perhaps the easiest way to fix this is to align snakes to the surface they are on. This could also apply to other animals.
Ditto. Snakes tend to appear to do this.
See my Bug #0003916 "Snakes fall-off tops of rocks too far", which is more appropriate.

After some experiment I can confirm that surfaceNormal could be incorrect in some places. Most likely map problem as well.
Please see attached image. (http://feedback.arma3.com/file_download.php?file_id=3521&type=bug) The ammo box is set explicitly to follow terrain
box setVectorUp (surfaceNormal box);
yet it is off.
Shrugs. Did you check to see if the ammo crate was perhaps set atop of a stump or rock? ;-)
I think I'm more worried about the snakes floating two feet off the ground at rock cliffs. Although I don't think I've seen this occur lately, as I think they now more properly disappear and then reappear at the base of the rock cliffs? Also, I've yet to witness a bunny rabbit not follow the terrain, but they don't seem to live long after being spotted.
As far as the other man-made objects appear awkward, think this attached screenshot of the ammo crate is the first I've seen.
But if the fix fixes both problems, why complain? ;-)
Ammo crate has no obstruction underneath and is not always wonky on the hill side, but there are places where it does not follow the terrain despite these places being flat. This leads to the conclusion that surface normal might not be set correctly there.
Also the adding additional vector adjustment might fix animals on hill sides it wont fix faulty surface normals. And who's complaining anyway? This is bug reporter, so chill.
Happens to other life as well, like turtles, they clip the terrain on slopes.
