Since the latest update, rounds are impacting ~1-2 feet to the left of (and sometimes slightly higher than) where the crosshair was originally aimed at. This has happened to me with a mosin (200m confirmed range and zero), tundra (550m confirmed range and zero), and MKII (~10-15m, video example attached. Have 2 other clips if needed.) This could also happen with other guns, but I haven’t tested it yet. All targets were still, shots taken from a crouched position without leaning, and while holding breath (without strain at end of holding breath). Aiming at the center of a torso or head results in a miss to the left. Aiming just to the right of the target should be a miss, but it results in a hit. Could this please be looked into? Thank you.

Aim near center of a target, observe projectile landing to the left of the center point of aim on that target.
Aim slightly to the right of the target, observe projectile landing near center of target. (i.e., aim just outside the right side edge of a zombie head, and the impact will be near the center of the head)
PlayStation, LA official server. Never happened until most recent update. (Have landed much harder shots over the years. Something is off with this. Thank you.)
Event Timeline
If you slow it down frame by frame, the impact can be seen to the left behind the target. I was aiming center/right side of the target. Range was confirmed by teammate right before the shot was taken.
This one clip was on a death match server. The other 2 clips above were on official. All after the update.
Range here was ~550, zero to 600 and aimed low to account for that. For both shots the round impacted to the left of where the crosshair was. The last shot I landed, I aimed low and to the right to show what it’s doing and how far it’s off. Was not leaning.
Thank you, @cflynn93. I must’ve missed that one when reading through them. Thought I was going crazy! Will adjust accordingly.
No it was not. The bullets are consistently up and to the left. I experience this too in addition to my teammates. Dispersion does not equal up and to the left every time. This is an unintended bug that needs to be addressed. When perfectly aiming shots are no where close to as intended. Many clips already of this happening. Wake up bud
I was alluding to and highlighting the fact dispersion was increased, as stated in the patch notes. This issue may be an unintended side effect of that as you said.
Either way it has made sniping so inconsistent and unpredictable. I don’t know how to counter it and I don’t think you can. Really sad to see this change included. I don’t mind dispersion for buck shot but this is way too far. Sniping is broken and for no reason
@Dadtylikez @cflynn93 Agreed. Couldn’t have said it better. Hoping they can correct it soon. I personally prefer to snipe, but I feel forced to just stash away my long range weapons for now and only do CQB until this is fixed, which sucks. But I don’t want to risk giving away my position and possibly losing a ~4 week character as a result of a missed snipe that’s out of my control.
I play on Xbox and to be honest, I can't say I've encountered this issue personally, but maybe I've not noticed yet. I've played on several deathmatch servers and not noticed any wild discrepancy in bullet placement.
@cflynn93 I can’t comment on Xbox or PC as I’m on PlayStation when it happens. Had it happen again just now with a longhorn. Bullet landed to the left. Done with sniping until it’s fixed.
Xbox is not PlayStation. You should not be commenting on this forum, respectfully. This may be a PlayStation issue.
Adding this test clip. Aiming at fence post each shot. Less emphasis on the range. Sending to show rounds landing to the left each time.
Adding this test clip as well. Aiming at a dot in the center of the panel next to a doorway. Every round impacts the left side of it, and some even hit the red brick outside of the target area. To snipe a player in a doorway, you’d have to aim at the right edge of the doorway or outside of it.
Adding this last test clip. (Actual range was a little under 800, so the round landed a little high.) I aimed at the right edge of the ATC window frame, but the round impacted to the left side of the window opening near the top left corner, several feet off. Zoomed in for your convenience. Thank you. (I’ve landed body shots and headshots from here several times before, but not possible now.)
Test clip on official trying to snipe a zombie/zed in the head with a CR from 300m. Crouched, not leaning. Impact to the left again.
This is totally correct. The Dispersion update does not match actual gameplay. I will be opening a ticket for this one too
Reading additional comments other player feedback this does look to be a PS issue. Not seen any Xbox or PC players complain of the problem.
Let hope the devs actually use a PS console to test and not XBOX or PC
I've also come to the same conclusion that this is isolated to PlayStation. I'm on Xbox and it's not happening to me.
