DayZ freezes on startup and fills up RAM (no mods or connection)
Reviewed, NormalPublic

Description

Hello,
I'm experiencing a critical issue with DayZ version 1.27.159674 on Windows 10. The game goes black on launch, and the RAM gradually fills up to 99%, without reaching the main menu.

I've tried all of the following without success:

Running without mods or server connection

Deleting the entire game configuration and clearing shader cache

Trying different NVIDIA driver versions (551.86 and 565.90)

Running as administrator, in borderless windowed mode

Using sfc /scannow, DISM, reinstalling Visual C++, and disabling overlays/antivirus

Windows Clean Mode and a new user account

This issue occurs even when launching the executable directly from a .bat file, without a server connection or BattlEye.

My hardware:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X

GPU: NVIDIA RTX 2060 (current driver 551.86)

RAM: 64 GB DDR4

OS: Windows 10 64-bit

Resolution: 1920x1080 (single display)

I've attached the generated diagnostic files.

Hello AdvancedPlayer.
Does the Experimental version run? If so, we suggest to disable Steam cloud sync, delete the contents of your DayZ documents folder and then copy over the contents of your DayZ Exp folder from documents into it.
Regards,
Geez

I've also tried Geez and it's still the same.

In such case, can you please check if there is enough memory allocated and there are no other programs running that could be eating up your memory?

I've also done this, and I've also disabled the applications that were running in the background. The RAM is new. I bought it because I thought it was a RAM problem. I also wiped the disk and formatted the computer.

Thank you.
At the moment there are no further suggestions I could provide.

It could be a bug in the game version 1.27 with my hardware configuration (amd+rtx), because the exp version works without problems for me.

Just to be 100% sure, you have disabled Steam cloud sync right? Just to be sure no faulty files are being downloaded upon the clean install.

Also since you are able to run the exp, could you try the document swap again?
You need to delete all the contents of your DayZ documents folder, disable Steam cloud sync and then take the DayZ Exp documents folder files and copy them over to the DayZ documents folder and then run the game.

If I have disabled synchronization
