I write this task since I read on Official DayZ Discord another player is having the same problem.
Several times I've noticed that when you have an empty mag, and hit and hold R, it doesn't reload the weapon.
I have extra mags prepared for this, I have empty space in my inventory for the empty mag.
In my case I've had problems with VSD and 10rnd mags (pristine). IJ70 having 2 extra mags ready to use (1 worn, 1 damaged), CR-75 having 2 extra mags ready 1 damaged, 2 pristine.
I started DayZ, logged on with my character, grabbed my VSS, and hit R, and it did switch to another mag from my inventory. I have 4mags in total. And it reloads without problem.
I bring up my VSD, same there, I have extra mags fully prepared, holding R does nothing. I hit TAB, drag a mag to the mag slot of the VSD and it reloads. TAB out again now, holding R reloads the mags in the VSD as well.
I bring out my IJ70, hold R, it doesn't reload. I hit TAB, drag the mag to the slot, it shifts, TAB out, now when holding R it reloads.
I bring out my CR-75, hold R, nothing happens, no reload. Hit Tab, drag mag to slot, reloads, tab out, hold R and it reloads.
I restarted DayZ to try it out again as I did when writing the steps to reproduce above.
Back in game Ihave my IJ70 in hands and I hold R, it reloads.
I bring out my VSD, hold R, it reloads.
I bring out my CR-75, hold R, it doesn't reload.
I shift to my IJ70 again. hold R, it now doesn't work even though it did work just a few seconds ago.
Shift to my VSS, hold R, it reloads. (The VSS has worked all the time when testing, shifting between 4 30rnd mags - no problem).
Going back to the IJ70, I can "fix it" by dragging the mags from inventory to the slots, and it does reload on holding R afterwards.
When trying the CR-75, hold R, doesn't reload, I notice that the left part of the HUD with the gun information is blinking (flashing) as if it reacts to reload but it aborts. Again, hit TAB, drag the mag, TAB out, and hold R to reload is working.
Severity, it's perhaps not game-breaking, but it does affect your battles with other players VERY much. First I set it to Trivial, but changed it to Major now writing this. I've had this problem fighting off a gang of zombies, and trying to hunt reindeers. And well, it can go very bad. I had to find food elsewhere.. since they ran off.
Reproducibility, well, seems as if it happens more often than not. So it sits between "Always and sometimes".
Hope you can sort this out, this is a disturbing thing. I don't mind bugs that are constistent and you can work around it, but this one is actually affecting gameplay.
