BSOD after Frostfall update!
Need More Info, NormalPublic

Description

Since the Frostfall update has come out, some users have been facing an issue with BSOD (PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA), this can be on modded/vanilla servers (I have found neither/or matters), I had found that the game would crash in different ways;

  • Sometimes it would BSOD during the loading screen.
  • Sometimes it would BSOD after interacting with something IG.
  • Sometimes it would BSOD after getting out of the loading screen.

I had decided to look at online fixes, but there is nothing to address this issue except a recent post on Reddit/Steam about individuals facing this exact same problem (ref-search; 'BSOD After New Upadte' by Quakkcy on 'STEAM').

Additional Information

I have taken the time to thoroughly examine my own PC, I have a high-end Orion Predator 3000 which hadn't previously had any issues running DayZ, other users involved in said discussions (from what I have seen), also have relatively high-end, modern, computers, which gives me an impression that this has to be a compatibility issue, this was also further confirmed when I had went to a Microsoft technician believing my PC to be broken, however;

  • He had conducted numerous tests and found that all of my software/hardware was also functioning and A-okay during this process.

Through this I had thought it might've been dodgy hardware, so I had literally taken apart my computer to examine it only to discover everything still in good/pristine condition (due to the fact I had gotten this PC only a few months back).

Hello Optical.
Have you tried to do a clean install of your OS and the game? Have you checked your current OS for any faulty installations/corrupted files by running sfc/scannow?
And have you tried to delete your documents DayZ folder and verify the game data? (Make sure Steam cloud sync is disabled before doing so).

Hello Geez, I had pretty much had a clean OS at the time (as my PC is fairly new), when I had done the sfc/scannow my command-line told me 'Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations', I had also tried that as an alternative fix (by deleting & verifying files), which hadn't helped either, still resulting in the same BSOD each time, which is what strikes me as strange because I know my PC should be more than able to handle DayZ, especially on an Nvidia RTX GeForce RTX 4060.

I had also wiped my PC again and am currently in the process of trying yet another test, but those were the issues that I had faced, I had even got a Microsoft technician to operate my PC and look at the PAGE_FAULT issue in the command-line.

Thank you. Unfortunately there is no further advice I can provide at the moment. It would seem it is related to your computer though as we have no such reports from other users.
