This new fishing mode is great, but now you can clearly see that the fishing animations are reversed.
With live bait (worm: both with lead and float and with direct line) you put the hook in the water and wait for the fish to bite, and at that moment you have to give the "pull".
With artificial bait (fake bait or spoon), you have to cast and slowly withdraw, and in light strokes, the bait in order to "simulate" a real fish (even rubber insects).
In DayZ, at this time, the animations would also be good, but they should be reversed.

Slight change (inversion of the animations) = big effect (more realistic animations).
