Why do trees need fire geometry outside of the main body..?

Hello designful.
There are no issues with the tree firegeometry. The shots are being blocked only by branches, bullets pass through leaves and there is only a particle effect when you shoot them.

I mean.... The video pretty clearly shows hitting leaves when hes not aimed near them, and no bullets making it through the invisible leaves either... It looks like one may have made it through a branch though ;P
I cant wait for the day that they fix the collision in this game, half the windows in DayZ have collision on them despite them being clearly broken windows.
There is clearly an issue with tree fire geometry.
My bullets are being redirected despite clearly not hitting anything, and it's a direct result of the poor fire geometry.
Is it intentional that bullets get redirected from hitting the foliage.bisurf?
If not then here, please fix thanks.

It is possible that this issue is just location specific according to our testing.

After testing it made me aware of how awful the deflections are with bullets and leaves, could you please reevaluate the foliage bisurf after shooting through some leaves? I find it hard to believe that that is desirable as it is incredibly frustrating for players, especially considering forests consist of majority of the maps lol.
There is an effect, but the shots are not blocked.
Can you please check with the debug: Game/Combat/Shot/vis. trajectory? it is available in Diag executable (more info here: https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/DayZ:Diag_Menu)
They are not blocked, but they are heavily redirected and almost never flying straight through the leaves. It's not very feasible to hit someone with good accuracy when there is leaves between them and you.
We have consulted this behaviour with the dev team and they are aware there is a small deflection value which can result in deflecting/redirecting the bullets. We would like to address this for the future updates, however I cannot provide any estimates as in which update will this get addressed.
