Mounting as passenger on either the armed or unarmed Mi-8 causes you to play the open door regardless of whether the door is left open or closed. You then proceed to climb into the rotor mast and then sit inside the wall of the cargo bay. Upon dismounting you appear inside the cargo bay and the door is visually closed however the action is still present to close it which then teleports you outside to play the open/close animation.
