VOIP not working despite accessing mic
Reviewed, NormalPublic

Description

Players are no longer able to hear me as of last week. None of my settings changed, no new programs were installed, nada. Out of the blue, players simply couldn't hear me any more. This is despite my microphone working exactly as expected in every other program, and it was working just fine in DayZ for months prior.

I've tried the following:
Setting dedicated inputs for dayZ & steam
Running DayZ as an administrator while it being the only app open
Uninstall of DayZ and full deletion of all associated files before reinstalling
Speaking into a megaphone in game both with PTT and speech detection mode

When I hit push to talk, the mic icon does show up, and I have confirmed DayZ is accessing the correct microphone (all others are disabled) and that the microphone input is at full volume and clearly audible in other all apps, including nvidia's in game broadcast feature where my voice clearly comes through in the overlay.

Hello snowhound1143.
Since you are using an external soundcard. Have you tried connecting the mic to the integrated soundcard and turning the external soundcard off to see if that has any effect?

I have. Both with the Shure MV7 & a Sennheiser GSP 370 headset. Players are still unable to hear me, and I confirmed the microphone was still being accessed by DayZ. This happened to me about a year and a half ago. I never found a solution, but it wasn't that big of an issue as I wasn't a server owner back then. Now anytime I need to talk to a player for a ticket or general interaction, I have to have them hop in discord. Super cumbersome and kind of ruins the immersion for players.

Open to any other suggestions you have.

Unfortunately no other suggestions I could provide as of now due to us not reproducing this issue on our end nor it is a widely reported issue. Therefore it must be specific to your hardware/software setup.

Hi did you ever found a solution for the mic? I'm experiencing the exact same problems with you for the past 9 months and I can not find any solution
