Before patch, if you changed the voice level, the mic icon would be displayed for a short time to give you feedback about which voice level you did set
With 1.24 it doesn't appear anymore, you have to actually press the voice chat key to check

Same problem here, and Iv'e seen this on multiple streams. It's really annoying for RP situations as you can't see your speaking volume before opening your mic wich can cause enemies to hear your VOIP if you in volume 3.
