The concept of Conflict game mode is broken because a single player can teleport and deploy radios.
It’s so easy for a player who knows what they’re doing to use “teleport to objective” and "deploy radio" to “solo” the game:
- Setup a 1 man locked group and save your load out with a ton of gear in a backpack
- Dump the back pack and grab a radio back pack
- Teleport instantly to a distant objective only 300m from it
- Deploy the backpack as your personal respawn point
- Take the objective yourself with your 10 personal respawns
- Build an antenna
- Repeat
Then use teleport to travel all the way across the map behind the enemy front lines to easily recapture key points like Tower Entre Deux or Tower Regina.
This same approach can also be used to setup a persistent ambush point far behind the lines because deployed radios do not need to be in radio range to work (at the very least radios and group leaders should need to be in radio range to teleport to).
The really big problem with something like teleporting is that you HAVE to use it if you want to be competitive and win the game. Kinda like 3PP. It’s a kind of exploit that if you don’t use then you’re disadvantaged.
This is not what Conflict is about at all. Conflict is supposed to be about team play, but with the freedom to "choose you own adventure".
I think the problem here is the Platoon structure is not right. The fix to this is something I've raised before (ticket here: https://feedback.bistudio.com/T175411), which is that an additional level is required in the "platoon hierarchy".
Because the current setup allows "groups of one" this also effectively allows deployed radios for an individual (as the deployed radios are meant to be used exclusively for a "group").
As I've suggested previously (https://feedback.bistudio.com/T175411), if there were a limited numbers of groups per side (e.g. 1 group for every 6-8 players) and there was an additional level under "group" called "team" where "teams" were unlimited and allowed 1 player that CAN be locked, then deployed radios can ONLY be used at the "group" level, then this prevents the ability for an individual to have their own personal respawn deployed radio.
This also has the benefit of encouraging team play.
