One of the most loveable aspect of DayZ is its atmospheric survival.
Those moments that you take to slow down, and focus on the survival aspect, hunting, fishing, foraging, cooking it, making improvised tools,
these are the moments you slow down the most, and appreciate the most.

My suggestion is: Stews and Soups. Combining ingredients for a more powerful nutritional dish.

One day, we shall have a whole expanded cooking mechanic of combining ingredients together, maybe even for certain buffs?
Fruit jam stew, for extra stamina for a short period, or Vitamin effect, or antibiotic (the day Rosehips and Elderberries will come back.)
Options are limitless.

There are many mods that do this feature these days,
but officially implemented, I'm sure it will be way more dynamic, rich, and lavish in feature and implementation.
