Probably because they want you to be able to tell the difference once the officer screams, letting you know other infected are now being alerted of your presence

I dont think so. Because at my first report of this issue i got the answer "in our tests all zombies were screaming like a male". So its not wanted probably.
But the weird thing is that it is the case that this zombie is screaming like a female and i cant understand what they tested when he really didnt at their tests. On unstable servers or what xD I mean all PS players can confirm that.

Do you have a recording? I'm curious because on PC is just sounds higher pitched. I never thought it was a female scream?
