I've noticed that sometimes when you stumble upon a dynamic crash site that wagons or vehicles are missing. The loot will then hover above the rails or road.
One time I found a train crash site and all the wagons were there but when I came back later (20 minutes or so) most of the wagons were gone...
I've never seen this happen with a dynamic Helicopter spawn site.
