Problems with "zeroing" some sights mounted on a crossbow
Closed, DuplicatePublic

Description

During tests on the experimental server, I noticed that when installing the NV-PVS4 night vision sight on a crossbow, the simplest and feathered bolts can only be effectively fired at point-blank range, they seem to "fall under the feet", many of them were lost. An attempt to use a carbon bolt was also unsuccessful, it was not possible to find it later. Certain difficulties were also observed with the ACOG sight. (Perhaps this is due to the "peculiarities of crossbow ballistics", but I'm afraid this will puzzle novice players a lot ...)

Steps To Reproduce
  1. Installed the sight on the crossbow
  2. Fired shots with different types of bolts
  3. The "ballistics" of the bolts was so incomprehensible that most of them were lost, and it was possible to hit the target only when firing at close range

Conducted repeated tests, which confirmed: the possibility of changing sighting at different distances (by pressing "PageUp" and "PageDown") for sights mounted on a crossbow is not provided. I propose to add for the crossbow the possibility of shooting at least at 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 meters: such values will be close to real hunting distances and will make the crossbow a truly convenient tool for hunting, including night hunting.

Geez, you set my ticket to "acknowledged". Do you have any information, as to whether the devs plan on doing something about the optics having more zeroing options when attached to the crossbow?

I will add that the addition of many sighting options for crossbows will make the laser rangefinder more in demand and valuable for players.
