We experienced that very intense in the Capture And Hold The Factory:
Imaging yourself on the ground level of the building: When a door is opened on the first floor or someone reloads or someone is just walking around, the sound volume is as loud as it would be directly next to yourself. With that the sound is really of no help to tell if someone is in your vicinity and is very bad for the immersion.

Hello Snake1984.
This is currently as designed, the only occlusion we meassure is if the player is inside or outside. There isn't any complex audio occlusion when it travels through solid walls/ceilings.
However, this might change for the future updates.
