Feedback on Conflict: Enemy should not be able to delete entire captured base in seconds
Reviewed, NormalPublic

Description

When the enemy captures a built up base, they are immediately able to delete the entire base in seconds. Number one, this is unrealistic, and number two it really degrades the value of "base building" which is something I assume BI wants to support as a selling point of the game.

For players who want to be base builders, why should they bother spending ages getting the ranks now required and trucking loads of supplies if that base you built up can just be wiped out in an instant.

For now, I would suggest using the captured base "spawn countdown" timer for also locking deleting assets. At least give the defending team some time to recapture the base.

In future it would be great to have demolition charges that could be used by the enemy to destroy base assets without needing to capture. This would be much more "realistic" and more interesting.

So, let me get this straight: you're the one complaining about how easy it is to dismantle bases, yet your brilliant solution is to introduce explosive devices to make it even simpler? Talk about contradicting yourself. Maybe instead of taking the lazy route, you could actually step up your game and learn to defend bases properly, rather than relying on gimmicky shortcuts. Just a thought

I have not run into too many people completely tearing down recently capped bases, but obviously that's just my experience. Generally a well built defense serves the new owner as much as the old. If it's just a sandbag city then that might be different. I find bunkers and defensive positions to be a better use than 25+ sandbags. Sandbags i find more useful to plug doorways/walls, or completely shut out those long barracks that are all over Mil bases.

Cutting off common entry routes and building cover from grenades will serve you better then then lines of walls. Bunkers also give you a extra possible spawn position and good cover which is huge if the attackers have good coverage of existing spawns. Large camo nets are decent for stopping LOS and you can build a armory inside of them while only costing 80. Right now the game favors a well built defense in my opinion, but if you don't built practically than you are left getting slaughtered on spawn. There are trolls out there or vindictive people, but that's in any game. If the attacker decide to tear it all down that should make it that much easier to counter assault no?

I do believe destruction and explosives are going to be a bigger part in the future and i don't think the current system is perfect. I would like to see some adjustments on building like having a single press to build rather then hold (pro tip; if you hold your build button/key and then open the Steam overlay you will keeping building without having to hold). i think the devs could do a better job of teaching players some basic building strategies and encouraging better use of supply. little things like FIA blocking you from building is very annoying (check the water), or how i seem to randomly stop building for no reason and have to start over.
