This is happening on PS4 as well. I am unable to combine anything (The UI option used to be circle to combine but now it is (Hold) circle to combine and it will not work with anything at all that I've tried. I cannot combine anything, even same type items into a stack... this does urgently need fixed please! Thank you!

*UPDATE*
Upon review, I am able to combine items with "the new control scheme" but not the "default control scheme", it appears to be a button conflict. You are supposed to (Hold) the circle button to combine items but it always closes the menu (close menus by pressing circle) instead. The closing (Press) overrides the combine (Hold) every time.

This also happens to me on the PS5.

I take a magazine in my hand, open the inventory, select the appropriate ammunition and want to fill the magazine with this ammunition by pressing "circle" to combine and then holding down "R2" to fill the magazine or " Circle" and hold as shown.

Nothing happens with any of the alternatives.

The "Load R2 Magazine" option does not appear.
Even if I hold down "circle" for several seconds.

The inventory closes, but no option to load the magazine appears, nor does the character start loading the magazine by continuing to hold "Circle".

I now get the magazine loaded if I hold "circle" pressed and I hold down "triangle" as soon as the inventory disappears while I keep pressing "circle". But I can't get the magazine into the gun like that. This combination only unloads the weapon.

OK. I have the magazine in my gun now. Simply move the magazine from the inventory slot to the weapon's magazine slot by holding down "cross". This is how the weapon and magazine combination works. Please change it again or let everyone know.
