Looking to be able to define the length of a segment of rope currently if you make an object a rope it will always be currently 0.5m long no matter the model size
(referance image all model sizes are stated above)

Could you explain what is the problem and usage? Currently segment length is calculated from totalLenght/nSegments
Sure, so i would like to control the individual length of the a segments currently as you can see in the picture above i have a model that is 1,5m long but as a rope it squishes the model and makes it 0.5m long with no current way to change it.
for usage here are some i just thought of Basically these all boil down to a use where you would want the phyx of a rope but not the model.
reach pendent / HELICOPTER PENDANT SYSTEMS
this would basically be a a nonflexible physx pivot attach that would allow use to 1 make the system's stated above as well as have many other applications
det cord
with custom length we could make the rope have more detail and allow people to actualy put it around things instead of just a 0.5m intervals
towing arms
that are actualy rope models make it so that the towing is actualy phxy based on the rope but wont look as janky
concertina wire
concertina wire where it would be a rope with a custom p3d and could "bend" / move when vics and other stuff push it
anti rpg skirt
a phyx based skirt that could react to "catching" an rpg
a few other could be
rope ladder
Spies
fuzzy dice
(do i think this would work maybe but it would be funny if it did)
Not sure I understand. It stretches because it doesnt matter what initial length is because itwill be adjusted when the ropeis generated and the length of the segment will be the total length of the rope divided on number of segments
ill give an exsample for the reach pendent what im trying to do is have single segment rope that is 1.5m long
a lot of the exsample above would use the same single segment that is x amount of length
