Hello,
a lot of times i seen posts here, where players trying to report cheaters on public servers, but every time if there was any reaction it referred players to BattlEye company or task is closed as Resolved.
So I did it and the result didn't surprised me, message from BattlEye was: Reports are most useful if you can provide the steamID64 or ingame name of the suspected cheater.
But when i play on public server i cannot get steamID64 of suspected player or ingame name in any way. And for community servers too, because server admins don't want provide any info about players, even if it's a suspected cheater.
Then i asked BattlEye if it can help them if i provide info about my steamID + nick + time. They replied: Unfortunately this info is not very useful for us without an identifier. You could report that info to the game developers/server admins though.
It looks like vicious circle, you are refer player to BattlEye, but BattlEye refer players back to you, because they don't have any data for investication of suspected player.
You can add REPORT button to "Dead screen" log SteamID64 and send it to BattlEye for investication of suspected player, if there will have more reports on that SteamID64 they can start investication. For example if cheater kill some players and some of them reported him, BattlEye can start investications instantly and immediately take action if it is shown that this was using of cheats(memory injections/blabla). But actually they have tied hands on still unknown cheats of exploits.
I understand, that this is a game of cat and mouse, but you should take some steps to help honest players and give them hope, that you do not ignore it,
because that is how it's looks like from players perspective.
Regards,
