I don't think it's your problem but i experienced similar the other day and took the uninst/reinst steps to try and fix it no avail. I could load into servers, run about for between 30 seconds and a couple of minutes, then the sound would cut out and quite soon after the game would hang, along with Steam and server browser, just showing a static screen. PC was very slow and unresponsive and the mouse would be unusable too so had to use keyboard to navigate task manager to force quit.

I had the game and about 400gb mods installed on an external SSD which i deleted and i reinstalled just the game trying to fix the problem.

Right before the problem happened i had tidied all my cables, unplugging them from pc in doing so and i had put the SSD back in another usb port. The moment i put it back into its original port the problem disappeared, wish i had tried that initially! Of course there's no issue with the other usb port and it had no problem wiping the files and reinstalling the game on the SSD when it was in it. Both ports are the same standard too.

Whether it is the game or steam that had the issue with the port switch i can't say.

Maybe this will be helpful if someone else encounters the same issue.

Hello joesmokexx.
Can you please try the following?

Verify the game data through Steam and delete the configuration files when prompted to do so (Make sure Steam Cloud Sync is disabled prior to doing this) or delete the C:\Users\*username*\Documents\DayZ folder manually

Open the DayZ launcher
Select PARAMETERS menu
Select ALL PARAMETERS tab
scroll down and check "Bulldozer" parameter
Launch the game
Once launched, close the game
Uncheck bulldozer
Launch the game again without any parameters

Regards,
Geez
