Feature Request: Select Mic to use option in native DayZ settings
Reviewed, NormalPublic

Description

We're getting a few people who are having mic issues over the last several versions.
Their mic works in every other game, Skype, Discord etc, but doesn't transmit in DayZ, despite us troubleshooting the obvious mistakes such as keybinds, default windows settings etc.

Would it be possible for you to add an option to select a mic directly from the DayZ settings so the user can be sure the mic is being recognised and is selected?

If anyone has an issue currently with their mic, or can suggest common solutions to this issue, please feel free to suggest them below so I have a generous link of solutions to point people to.

Additional Information

Current solutions tried:

  • Windows updates fully applied
  • Mic is the default device in Windows
  • Reinstalling Mic Drivers (where applicable)
  • Turning the PC off and on again
  • Graphics drivers update, and settings afterwards confirmed to be returned to Default mic rather than the likes of nVidia Mic
  • In game options all set to Max
  • Icon appears in game when keybind is set
  • Voice Activity is not set in game (push to talk applied)
  • Mic volume in Windows is all the way up
  • Conflicting programs disabled, and Keybinds checked (IE Push to Mute native mic is not the same button as Push To Talk in DayZ)
