.22 Long Rifle Headshot Damage Multiplier bug?
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

If player has nothing on his head .22LR will do 100 damage to upper head and 50 damage to lower part of the head.
If player has any glasses, hat, mask or helmet (even if there is no protection) 22lr will do only 50 damage to head.
Is it supposed to be like this or is it a bug?

Hello AspidZEUS.
We have tested this thoroughly but found no issues. Where you think you are shooting into "lower head" area is actually a torso zone.

Geez

Guys, how you tested this?
If what i hit is "torso zone" then why i deal 50 damage with .22LR? And what about items on head that make .22LR always do 50 damage but without them 100 damage to upper head and 50 to lower part of head?
Also on video i show on last guy that i hit him to lower part of the head (50 damage) then 3 times to torso that deal 20*3=60 damage (50+60dmg=110) and his dead. If I shot at the torso, I would kill him with 5 hits not 4.

I make another video https://youtu.be/ezIy-IEtl74 please check.
Numbering of kills on video if you still don't understand.

  1. 5 shot to torso (20*5=100 dead)
  2. 1 shot to lower part of head and 3 shots to torso (50+20*3=110 dead)
  3. 1 shot to upper head (100 damage and ofc dead)

Then i start shot heads with glasses on them (work with ANY items that can be put on head)

  1. 1 shot to upper head (now for some reasons it's 50 damage) and 3 shots to torso (50+20*3=110 dead)
  2. 1 shot to lower part of head (still 50 damage) and 3 shots to torso (and again 50+20*3=110 dead)

What is considered torso that is also part of the head?
To me anything above the neck SHOULD be the head... Sure IRL you could survive a shot to the face... but a 22 that penetrates the brain chamber will bounce around and cause massive brain damage..

@AspidZEUS Do you have video of this?

Hello AspidZEUS.

5 shot to torso (20*5=100 dead)

this is correct, 22LR gives 20 dmg to the player character

1 shot to upper head (100 damage and ofc dead

this is also correct

Then i start shot heads with glasses on them (work with ANY items that can be put on head)
1 shot to upper head (now for some reasons it's 50 damage) and 3 shots to torso (50+20*3=110 dead)
1 shot to lower part of head (still 50 damage) and 3 shots to torso (and again 50+20*3=110 dead)

If character has any gear equipped on its head, the gear gets damaged first during the headshot. In the video, the head gets 22 dmg but the bullet did not hit the brain due to the glasses. Because character has survived this, then its 4 shots into torso to kill the character (3 in your case because the survivor has no clothes)

In regards to the second case.
Yes, it can happen that the bullet hits chin and damages head but does not hit the brain zone - though this occurs rarely.

1 shot to upper head (now for some reasons it's 50 damage) and 3 shots to torso (50+20*3=110 dead)

Also It appears you are counting this incorrectly:
1 shot (- 20 dmg head, - 40 dmg global),
2 shot (- 20 dmg torso, - 20 dmg global),
3 shot (- 20 dmg torso, - 20 dmg global),
4 shot (- 20 dmg torso, - 20 dmg global)

This returns Global = 0 and character is dead.

Geez

I thought the brain zone and etc zones were removed a long time ago?

Now i understand. Thanks
