Mic not working
Need More Info, NormalPublic

Description

My mic stopped working somewhere around 1.17. This is definately not an issue with my pc, because my mic does work with every other game, or programs like discord etc. There is no option ingame to choose from mics, and on the pc its chosen as default.
Reinstalling the game or other programs that use the mic does not work. disabling every other sound device on the laptop does not work.

Unsure. Might possibly be related to the new "talk to activate" feature in the game, or collision with discord. Tried uninstalling both discord and dayz completely from the pc, with no success.

Additional Information

The worst thing is im not the only one. I met few guys in the community that has the same issue, including my friend, which remains unresolved.

Hello janxxl.
Have you tried to change the microphone threshold settings in the game? Did that have any effect?

Geez

Hello Geez,
What do you mean? where do i do that?
I haven't noticed any options for microphones in audio settings in the game.
Thanks for replying,
Janek

Edit:
If you're talking about adjusting mic sensitivity, I have the voice volume on max and voip sensitivity on the least sensitive levels, however I use "press to talk" so the voip sensitivity shouldn't have any effect.

Hello Janxxl.
Yes, we did mean the mic sensitivity, thank you. Any other information that comes to mind that you could provide in regards to this problem? What kind of audio setup are you using? (External soundcard or integrated, type of microphone etc).

Geez

Im using internal realtek microphone, that is built in the gaming laptop im playing on. The mic does work on every other app on the laptop. It used to work in dayz too until sometimes around 1.17. That was around the time i used voicemod with the game which might be also related to the issue, but i remember it working shortly after i uninstalled voicemod form my pc. When trying to solve this issue, I tried reinstalling the voicemod back, to see if the virtual mic channel it creates would work with the dayz. That was also unsuccessful.

I have the exact same issue, the mic was working for me before updating the game recently. I have tried all suggested fixes (plenty of people on Steam discussions with this same issue) and nothing has worked so far. My mic works in Windows, Steam and any other app that I use, other than DayZ. I have checked that it's selected as the default input device in Steam and Windows and tested and it works. The game simply doesnt register a microphone, when I check in microphone privicy settings in Windows it shows as last being used a few months ago when I last played DayZ. My security software also prompts me of any time an application is trying to access the mic and again shows the last time it was used by DayZ as a few months ago, the same time as Windows shows. I've also tried disabling this protection which didnt work.

I've uninstalled the game and all mods and tried reinstalling on a new drive, disabling all input and output devices other than those being used, closing any other 3rd party apps that use a mic before loading the game in case of a conflict, nothing has worked.

Oh and I'm using a USB Blue Yeti microphone with no additional softwear for the mic
