Allow Steam to use Dayz and map names
Need More Info, NormalPublic

Description

Steam does not allow to filter serves based on the map name or game name.
I am assuming that the game needs to give steam the permission to do this.

The steam server filter does not know of the game Dayz or of the different maps.
To use the server search in steam, I can only use what is marked as a favorite server. I can't on thr game name DayZ or filter based on map names.

There is a way to filter by map in the official launcher.

If you click the "filters" option at the end of the search bar, there is a "Map Name" section.

(Either that or just put

map:MapName

in the search bar)

You can also use the other options to filter further, such as 1st person servers etc.

Is this what you are looking for?

I am not talking about launcher. The steam programs has a server search by game and dayz is not a game to filter on. Most of the dayz servers are displayed in steam server list, when I mark them as favorites in the launcher.

Server window in Steam. Can't filter on game DayZ.

The Steam server window is good to use, because it tells the actual number on each server and not low, medium, and high.

The only way I can use it for Dayz is to use the Favorites tab. It will show only the Dayz servers that I have marked as favorite in the Dayz game launcher.

It would still be good, if the internet tab could be used and search for Dayz and a map.

I know this isn't an answer to your question, but I hope it helps till you get one.

I understand the feeling of wanting to know how many players are online, but it's often not that helpfull.

If you're looking for a low pop server, 20 people could log in after you and it's no longer low.
Same with high. you could log onto a server with 70 people playing and 60 could log off for the night.

However, with that said, if you MUST know an exact playercount before joining, simply right-click the server you're curious about, and choose "Copy server info".
it'll show you an exact playercount.

Hope you get the answer you're looking for soon.
