PRC-77 backpacks cause "bad vehicle type" error when trying to copy in the Editor
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

If you give a unit a CSLA PRC-77 backpack in the Editor Arsenal, copy and pasting that unit will cause a "bad vehicle type" error, and the pasted unit will not have a backpack.

Preconfigured units with a PRC-77 (e.g. US Airborne RTO) can be safely copied, until you edit their loadout. Saving the loadout in the Editor Arsenal, even if no actual changes are made, causes the "bad vehicle type" behaviour to start occurring.

Units saved with PRC-77s as custom Editor compositions also exhibit this behaviour.

Steps To Reproduce

Simple demo:

  1. Place a unit in the Editor. Any will do.
  2. Open the Editor Arsenal (rightclick -> Edit Loadout) and give the unit a CSLA PRC-77 backpack.
  3. Copy and paste the unit. Observe the resulting error and lack of backpack on the pasted unit.

Preconfigured units:

  1. Place a US '85 RTO from the Men (Airborne Troops) category.
  2. Copy and paste the unit. Note that it works fine.
  3. Open the Editor Arsenal for one of the RTOs. Make no changes, just click OK.
  4. Copy and paste the unit. Note that the pasted unit has no backpack. (If you did the test above in the same session, the error message will only appear in the RPT log.)
